ETC Corporation has been the systems integrator for NTTA since 1999. As such, ETC Corporation has been responsible for establishing the program, project management, and design leadership for the RITE® Solution. Today, NTTA’s toll collection system, powered by the RITE Solution, processes approximately 1 million toll transactions each day for NTTA and has been deployed to serve other authorities. The RITE Solution capabilities have been expanded and enhanced to meet NTTA’s evolving needs, including supporting 3+ lanes of open road tolling since 2001.
At the beginning of the project, ETC Corporation conducted a detailed system audit of NTTA’s existing toll collection system from lane through host and tag store and identified numerous lane controller, systems configuration, and host processing improvements. ETC Corporation further prepared detailed recommendations that identified solutions to each issue and presented them as a component of the RITE program plan for review and approval by NTTA. The final program plan also included system requirements, conceptual design, budgetary schedule, and cost data for each of five major toll subsystems. NTTA subsequently approved the RITE program plan wholesale and instructed ETC Corporation to program manage and develop major portions of NTTA’s next-generation electronic toll collection solution, now known as the RITE Solution.
In addition, ETC Corporation provides NTTA with violation processing staff. ETC Corporations ’s VPC team reviews all violation images, performs QA checks on violation invoices, and provides miscellaneous support to NTTA’s VPC manager. The team’s supervisor oversees the team’s production and quality and has created and implemented production performance incentive programs that are instrumental in elevating individual image review productivity to consistently more than 8,000 images per day. The average time to peak image review performance for new hires, per ETC Corporation’s methods, require less than two weeks from day of hire.
ETC Corporation designed and developed RITE Solution extended functionality for NTTA to support authorized retail distributors by providing access-restricted logins to NTTA’s CSC application. More than 20 distributor locations are supported across the DFW Metroplex allowing customers to open new accounts and walk out with tags for immediate interoperable use on toll roads in Dallas, Houston, and the DFW International and Dallas Love Field Airports.
